Maybe you went last year… Maybe this is your first time to go… But it’s time for the Georgia-Cumberland Conference Youth Festival!

Youth festival is one of the most fun events that the conference puts on. It is a festival where all the youth that go to church in Georgia and Tennessee gather together to praise the Lord and spend a day with each other. During the morning, there will be performances by the choirs from GCA and CA. The speaker, David Ferguson, is pretty funny, and you are sure to receive a blessing from his message. After lunch, you have the chance to watch young people from around the conference praise the Lord by using their gifts in a program called “Expression Session.” It is really neat to see all the different ways to give God glory. After supper, one of Christian music’s best artists, Shawn McDonald, will be performing. You can visit his webpage and hear his music HERE.

Even though the festival is just on Sabbath, for us, it will be the whole weekend. We will leave on Friday afternoon, March 26, and drive to Dalton, GA where we’ll stay at Jennifer’s parent’s house. On Sabbath, we will drive to Cartersville, GA (about an hour away), and spend the whole day there at the festival. It’s a long day, so prepare yourself ahead of time! Saturday night, after the concert, we’ll drive back to Dalton and stay the night there. Sunday morning, we’ll leave by 9 or so, and be back to Greeneville by 12:30 where your rides can pick you up.
There are several items that you need to be able to go on this trip. First, it will cost you $25 to go. Second, you MUST have a signed permission slip which you can download and print HERE. Thirdly, you have to have a good attitude. In the past, there have been some that get grumpy through the day and don’t want to participate in the programs. If you feel like this might be you, then don’t go. It is not fair to others that would like to receive a blessing from being around a couple thousand youth that are praising the Lord.
Here is the brochure if you would like to see it!
